Fightlinker.com was a Rebellion acquisition in 2011 and has been one of most popular sites in the network. The property continues to produce the most hilarious and honest MMA news on the web, with a large and loyal following that is growing by the day.

“I can’t say enough about the job that Ryan and his team have done with Fightlinker.com since they were acquired. They have been everything we thought they would be – organized, consistent and committed to growing Fightlinker. The new design is something we agreed would improve the look of the site and bring in new readers to the already large community. Our design team did a great job with it,” said Rebellion Media CEO Scott Hastings.

“We’ve gone through a few design changes over the past 6 years but none have been on the scale or quality of this site overhaul. I’m really happy we were able to get a sexy new makeover like we did. It stays true to the history of the site, but is now cleaner, sharper and easier to use for our fans,” said Fightlinker.com founder Ryan Harkness.

The new design allows for an easy implementation of new features which Rebellion will roll out in the coming months.

Rebellion Radio will leverage their large online community on the Rebellion Media websites to help promote and create awareness for Rebellion Radio. The show will give the fans an opportunity to write in with questions and on air commentary as the show will take on air questions from MMA fans.  Each week they will have a great lineup of popular MMA fighters, personalities and writers from the various Rebellion Media websites.

“The launch of Rebellion Radio adds a brand new element to our content offer. A radio show is something that was simply necessary for us to create for our large loyal userbase. The good news is if a fan isn’t able to listen to the radio show we will be transcribing the important pieces of the interview and putting it on the website. The radio show will provide more exclusive content for the fans of our sites. We always wanted to do a radio show to give the fans an opportunity to hear directly from the fighters and for the fans to get a chance to voice their opinions. We’re really excited.”

At the moment Rebellion Radio will be hosted at BlockTalkRadio and development has been initiated to create our own radio platform where the show will be hosted.

The acquisition of MMAConvert is the third of 2012 and the tenth in the last 10 months for Rebellion Media. Rebellion has the largest number of owned and operated combat sports websites under ownership and continue to look for strategic targets that will fit under the Rebellion brand.

MMAConvert.com will add a significant number of users in the male 18 to 35 demographic to the current baseline Rebellion traffic.

As with all Rebellion acquisitions additional features will be added to MMAFrenzy.com to enhance the user experience.

Rebellion will be rolling out updated designs as well as additional features on the site in the near future.

The new sections will encompass Boxing, Pro Wrestling, Amateur Wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, Hockey Fighting and many others.

Graduating from the Richard Ivey school of Business, regarded as one of the most prestigious business school in Canada, Lavoie has gone on to obtain his Chartered Accountant designation and hold numerous senior executive roles throughout his career.
